Last Updated a year ago

What is Fund Pin?

At ChainEX, we understand the importance of protecting your assets, and that is why we offer an additional layer of security through the use of a Fund Pin. This 4 to 8 digit pin is created by you and can be used when placing any withdrawals, providing extra peace of mind. With Fund Pin, users are no longer required to have 2FA enabled to withdraw funds, although we still recommend it. You have the option to use Fund Pin, 2FA, or both when placing a withdrawal, giving you full control over your account security.

How to use the Fund Pin?

Fund Pin is only used when placing a withdrawal on ChainEX. When placing a withdrawal you are required to enter your unique 4-8 digit Fund Pin before completing the withdrawal process.

Enabling the Fund Pin is very easy to do:

  • You will navigate to the ChainEX Settings Page
  • On the top right, you will see Passwords.
  • You will then see “Fund Pin”
  • Next to Fund Pin, click on Enable
  • On the “Enable Fund Pin” pop-up, enter your Account Password (This is the password you used to enter your ChainEX Account)
  • Enter your unique 4 to 8 digit Fund Pin (this is a pin you have created)
  • Confirm your Fund Pin by re-entering it in
  • Click on Confirm
  • You will then receive a confirmation email from ChainEX.

Please note that your Fund Pin will not take effect until you have confirmed it via the confirmation email.

When confirming via email, if you receive a message saying that your link has expired and you can not confirm, please note that if you navigate back to your settings page, you will see a "Resend" button next to Fund pin. When clicking this button, you will receive a new Fund Pin confirmation email.

Once you have confirmed your Fund Pin via email, you are required to enter your Fund Pin every time you place a withdrawal.

If you wish to disable your Fund Pin, all you need to do is the following:

  • Navigate to the ChainEX Settings Page.
  • On the top right, you will see Passwords.
  • You will then see “Fund Pin”
  • Next to Fund Pin, click on Disable
  • On the “Disable Fund Pin” pop-up, enter your Account Password.
  • Enter your unique Fund Pin.
  • Click on Confirm.

Your Fund Pin will now be disabled.

If you do not have your 2FA enabled at this point, before placing any withdrawals you would be required to either enable your 2FA or re-enable the Fund Pin.

Please note that it is required to have either your 2FA or the Fund Pin enabled in order to place and process your withdrawals.

If you are not sure how to enable 2FA, please watch this video over here.
